Over the course of 400 hours, learn everything it takes to be a licensed Permanent Cosmetics Artist in the state of Arkansas while apprenticing under a master PMU artist.
Your course will begin with an introduction to the theory behind permanent makeup, safety regulations, and a breakdown of your course sections. You’ll be required to pass the state regulations written exam for the Department of Health before moving forward.
Once you’ve learned the basic principles of PMU, you’ll put what you’ve learned into practice by designing brows on worksheets, practicing on skins, and perfecting the art of measuring, mapping, and correcting.
Learn the art of marketing and branding your business while you work closely with an instructor. Through mentored observation, learn how a master artist works with clients. Begin working with live models and pass a practical exam to receive your license. Each student MUST complete 15 live models before going for their practical exam.
Enrollment in Beauty Ink Academy includes a PMU Kit filled with everything you need to begin your journey as a professional artist.
The foundation of any beauty service business is taking care of the health and safety of your clients and yourself with smart, sensible hygiene, cleanliness and precautions.
Color theory, or the science of how colors work together, will help you when mixing pigments to create brows that flatter any skin tone.
Knowing the ins and outs of blades, angles and hair patterns will help you to produce the best results every time.
Now that you’ve learned the basics of traditional microblading, it’s time to apply that knowledge to new techniques of brow artistry in the PMU field.
Understanding face shapes and how to pre-draw your clients’ brows will help you to create the most flattering brow shape for all faces.
As permanent makeup gains popularity and new tools and techniques are created, more options are becoming available for other parts of the face.
There’s more to microblading than the finished project. When your client trusts you with an important, permanent part of their face, communication and understanding is key.
These days, doing great work isn’t always enough. You’ll need to brand your business and yourself, and make sure that people see your work so you can stay relevant against your competition and attract new clients.
